RALEIGH, N.C. (March 24, 2008) - French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the nation's largest independent public relations, public affairs and brand communications agencies, has again been ranked as the largest independent PR agency headquartered in the Southeast region, according to the 2007 O'Dwyer's Ranking of PR Firms.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that FWV has achieved this distinction. FWV began participating in the O'Dwyer's Ranking of PR Firms in 2004 and each year since has been ranked as the Southeast's largest independent PR agency. FWV has also ranked as North Carolina's largest PR firm, independent or otherwise, in various rankings for the better part of the last decade.
Additionally, FWV ranks as the nation's 17h largest independently-owned PR firm, moving up several spots from last year's ranking as the agency recorded an impressive 27 percent growth rate during 2007. Firms are ranked by audited financial results.
"We are proud to remain at the forefront of our industry, growing tremendously each year since the agency's inception in 1997," said FWV President and CEO Rick French. "Our talented employees and exceptional clients have created an unparalleled combination that continues to spur our ongoing growth."
As the nation's largest independently-owned agency not headquartered in one of six larger and more traditional PR markets (New York City, Boston, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Seattle and Minneapolis), FWV continues to establish Raleigh as a national destination for an increasing number of prospective clients and PR professionals.
Jack O'Dwyer started the O'Dwyer Company 40 years ago and has become one of the most respected professionals in the public relations industry through his newsletter commentary, Web site and PR Report magazine. O'Dwyer's annual rankings are among the most watched and anticipated by the PR industry each year.
