RALEIGH, N.C. (June 25, 2008) - French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the nation's largest independent public relations, public affairs and brand communications agencies, today announced two new hires to support the agency's flourishing sports and entertainment practice. FWV also announced two additional new hires and five promotions.
Eric Minuskin, who joins FWV's sports and entertainment practice as a group account director, recently relocated from New York City to the Triangle after more than four years with Cohn & Wolfe and Ketchum in New York. He will support accounts such as Nfinity Shoes, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), TVG - America's Horseracing Network, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and General Sports Venue, LLC (GSV). A graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, Minuskin also holds a master of business administration from the University of Delaware.
Danielle Appelman joins FWV as an account coordinator, supporting the agency's sports and entertainment practice. Her experience includes internships with Fleishman-Hillard (Raleigh), the United States Olympic Committee and ABC's "Good Morning America," among others. Appelman recently graduated from UNC - Chapel Hill where she received a B.A. in exercise and sport science with concentrations in public relations and sports administration.
In additional agency news, Debbie Herbold has joined FWV's accounting department. In this role, she will support the accounting and finance functions of both FWV and the agency's creative arm, FWV Distilled. Herbold comes to the agency from a non-profit organization in Colorado Springs. She has an extensive background in accounting, staffing and office administration.
Amanda Church joins the agency as a marketing assistant, primarily supporting the agency's work around the Benefit Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and John Entwistle Foundation. The concert, billed as one of the most anticipated music festivals of 2008, will take place in Cary, N.C. on September 20, 2008. Church will also conduct new business research and community relations work for FWV.
Promotions
Wendy McCarthy has been promoted to vice president. McCarthy, who joined FWV in the fall of 2006, manages the agency's healthcare and technology practice areas. She also plays a key role in the agency's business development efforts.
Paige Parker has been promoted to group account director on the agency's healthcare and technology teams. Parker's primary account management responsibilities include Structure House, Saft Batteries and Wellspring accounts.
Kristin Kelly has been promoted to account supervisor supporting both FWV's food and beverage, and travel and tourism practices. Kelly oversees accounts including the Gatlinburg Department of Tourism, Tweetsie Railroad and the agency's Coca-Cola brands.
Derek Ross has been promoted to senior account executive, and supports multiple agency accounts including the Ford Black College Road Trip. Additionally, Ross manages all grassroots marketing efforts for the CIAA.
Chelsea Cullen has been promoted to account executive. Cullen supports agency accounts including WaterPartners International, The Mint and Canada Post.
