RALEIGH, N.C. (June 26, 2008) - French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the nation's largest independent public relations, public affairs and brand communications agencies, was honored with four awards for work conducted on behalf of its clients at this year's Sir Walter Raleigh Awards, hosted by the Raleigh Public Relations Society (RPRS) June 24.
FWV won two awards for work on behalf of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). The agency received a Gold Award in the Web site category for its development of the 2008 CIAA Tournament Web site, which incorporated the most up-to-date innovative technologies to connect CIAA alumni and fans to the Tournament. The site served as a main portal of information, linking fans to the CIAA's social networking profiles, providing direct links to CIAA corporate sponsors, and promoting all official CIAA Tournament events.
FWV also received an Honorable Mention for the CIAA 2008 Publicity Playbook, an all-access information guide designed to represent and showcase the ‘CIAA Cultural Experience' of the CIAA Tournament.
For its work on behalf of the Riders by the Makers of Lee apparel brand, FWV received a Gold Award in the Organizational/Identity Promotional Communications Campaign category. In support of the brand, FWV created a distinctive and memorable press event that resulted in more media coverage than garnered by any other single media push in brand history.
FWV was also recognized with a Silver Award for "Crickets in Raleigh-Durham" in the Employee Relations Communication Campaign category. The agency supported Cricket Communications' Triangle launch with a comprehensive employee relations program to recruit and retain sales and marketing staff in the highly-competitive telecommunications industry. FWV utilized guerilla marketing, worked with area schools, employed celebrity endorsers, and produced an employee kick-off event.
RPRS, founded in 1959, hosts the Sir Walter Raleigh Awards competition annually. This local competition showcases exemplary work by public relations and communications professionals throughout North Carolina, and recognizes and honors all practitioners who have achieved excellence in the field, from small, independent organizations to full-service agencies. The competition is judged by an independent panel of out-of-state judges.
